Alberta Golf (Carstairs) –
The province’s top junior boys and girls will descend upon Carstairs, Alberta this week for the 2021 Alberta U19 Championship at Carstairs Community Golf Club.
Considered the most prestigious prize in provincial junior golf, the Alberta U19 Championship has a long and storied history of talented youngsters who have the dream of one day playing at the highest level.

LOOKING BACK
Defending 2019 junior girls champion Annabelle Ackroyd of the Glencoe Golf & CC arrived at The Links at Spruce Grove looking for a three-peat to close out her stellar junior career. The University of Minnesota golfer achieved the three-peat with a 6 stroke victory.
On the boys side fellow Glencoe Golf and CC member Hunter Thomson joined Ackroyd with an equally impressive 8 shot wire to wire victory over runner-up Ben MacLean from St. Catharines Ontario. The 16-year-old who will attend The University of Michigan the fall of 2021 said this was the biggest win of his young career.

The Alberta Junior Boys Championship was first contested in 1938. The Alberta Junior Girls Championship record book dates back to 1932 with the juvenile division added in 1973.
