Kim Carrington wins 5th Alberta Senior Ladies Title
Alberta Golf (Lethbridge) – Calgary’s Kim Carrington started the final round of the 2021 Alberta Senior Ladies Amateur Championship with a one shot lead on Celina Lam of Airdrie. After going bogey-bogey-bogey to start, Carrington watched Lam birdie the 3rd hole, it was Lam who had a 2 shot lead which she kept until a double bogey on the 10th hole and they were tied with 8 holes to. Lynn Kuehn of Lacombe had 4 birdies in her first 10 holes and got within 2 before finishing 4th. Barb Flaman of Edmonton played in the final group and shot 78 for a 3rd place finish. Carrington made clutch par save putts on 15 and 16 and the tournament was decided on the 17th tee. The official score card at Lethbridge Country Club calls the hole “Hooker’s Remorse”. Celina Lam did indeed hook her tee shot left out of bounds and made double bogey. Carrington went on to make a stress free par on 18 to win by 3 strokes and claim her 5th Alberta Senior Ladies Title while Lam made a nice finishing putt on 18 to end up in 2nd place in her first ever appearance in this event.
