FIRST ANNUAL TOM BYERS JUNIOR GOLF DAY
On Saturday June 4, Inglewood Golf & Curling Club hosted the first annual Tom Byers Junior Golf Day. 80 kids aged 6-15 discovered the game of golf, got 90 minutes of instruction from PGA of Alberta professionals and then a fun BBQ. Alberta Golf & UpSwing partnered with Kids Up Front, Kidsport and The Calgary Flames Alumni Association to support junior golf all in the name of Lanny McDonald’s brother-in-law who passed away in 2020. Nothing made Tom Byers happier than seeing junior golfers enjoy the game and the event was a great tribute to the former Inglewood member.

UPSWING BY ALBERTA GOLF
UpSwing by Alberta Golf had a great start to the season with initial events in Banff, Stewart Creek, Crowsnest Pass & Paradise Canyon. Thanks to our friends at Park Distillery for sharing their new Mountain Joe Coffee Cocktail with our players.
The UpSwing platform is growing as we welcome new players and events each week. We’ve had extremely positive reviews on the events and where UpSwing by Alberta Golf fits in the recreational player category.
As of June we’ve had over 6,000 unique users visit our website, with many becoming UpSwing Members!
Reminder that the UpSwing membership is free for all GC members. We will continue to look to add events and experiences to our site for everyone to find and enjoy.  As well, golf course operators are beginning to see the opportunity that exists for them to invite the UpSwing community to their courses, as they too are adding events that they’re hosting but anyone can play in…. a successful launch for sure. More to come. Please direct any questions to info@upswinggolf.ca
