Welcome 2024 Host Club Volunteers!
- Host club volunteers are a crucial component to every championship and we appreciate you providing your time to deliver the best possible expereince for the players! With the help of volunteers, each provincial championship showcases the wonderful course design and unique challenges that each golf club provides while delivering an enjoyable experience for all competitors.
- Each championship requires approximately 20 volunteers each day to help with Registration, Starting, Scoring and Spotting.
- Alberta Golf is pleased to invite all interested host club volunteers to a training session which will include a complimentary drink and light snacks. Along with training, a presentation will be delivered which outlines the common question, what does Alberta Golf do?
- Host club volunteers receive a championship logoed hat, shirt and backpack from Alberta Golf which are provided during the volunteer training session.

Volunteer Roles
Registration – 10 volunteer shifts
- 2 volunteers at the registration table as players are arriving prior to their tee time each round.
- Rounds 1 & 2
- 7:00am – 10:00am & 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- Round 3
- 7:00am – 11:30am (approximate finish time)
Starter – 5 volunteer shifts
- 1 volunteer on each tee box (#1 & #10) which is in use during the start of each round.
- Schedule
- Round 1 & 2 – holes #1 & #10
- 7:30am – 11:00am & 12:30pm – 3:00pm
- Round 3 – hole #1
- 7:30am – 11:30am (approximate finish time)
- Round 1 & 2 – holes #1 & #10
Scoring – 20 volunteer shifts
- 9-hole scoring & Scoring tent
- 9-hole scoring volunteers are positioned on the 9th green and the 18th green. Volunteers collect each player’s scorecard through 9 holes, record all individual hole scores and relay this information to the tournament committee.
- Scoring tent volunteers greet players as they complete their round, ensure all scorecards are checked, completed, and signed and again, forward completed cards to the tournament committee.

Ball Spotters
- The Ball Spotter/Forecaddie volunteer role is in place to assist players with golf balls in trouble locations, when required. This role is very important regarding pace of play.
- The number of spotters is determined by the club by identifying trouble areas on the golf course.
