Alberta Golf to run 2020 Championships with new safety protocols

Alberta Golf (Calgary) – After thoughtful consultation with golf courses, competitors & volunteers across the province, 2020 Alberta Golf Championships will proceed using new Covid-19 safety protocols.
Competitors will experience the same quality they have come to expect from Alberta Golf Championships while remaining safe onsite from the time they register to final scoring.

Onsite access for all competitions will be limited to players only, no caddies or spectators will be allowed. Drivers will have access to the property for 15 minutes if dropping off players.
All players will be required to sign and return a waiver and all new local rules and Covid-19 protocols will be made available on the BlueGolf registration pages.
Alberta Golf has spent a considerable amount of time in making this decision, focusing first and foremost on the desire and capacity of all host facilities as well as the overall player experience. As such, all major Championships will be contested over 54 holes, including the U19 and Men’s Amateur Championship which have traditionally been 72-hole formats.
These decisions have been made in an effort to ensure all Championships run safely and will help to alleviate some of the host club resource requirements and player expenses incurred from a travel and accommodation perspective.
The Championship season kicks off Tuesday, June 23rd with the Alberta Mens Mid Amateur Championship at Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort in Sundre.
The McLennan Ross Alberta Junior Tour starts July 2nd with the Parent/Junior event at Innisfail Golf Club.
We look forward to seeing competitors on the course this summer across Alberta.
