THE 2021 GOLF SEASON IS HERE
Alberta’s Open for Summer plan means all Alberta Golf competitions and events will be held this season starting with today’s Alberta Open South Qualifier at Silver Springs Golf and Country Club and concluding with the first ever Mens Mid Master Championship in late September at Inglewood Golf and Curling Club. ALBERTA GOLF TO RUN FULL 2021 CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
The province’s Open for Summer plan will allow all of Alberta Golf Championships to be conducted this summer. Please read the following article to see where all the events will be played across the province this summer!
ALBERTA GOLF TO RUN FULL 2021 MCLENNAN ROSS ALBERTA JUNIOR TOUR SCHEDULE
The McLennan Ross Alberta Junior Tour presented by Crowe MacKay used a brand new registration process this year. Golf Genius centralized registration for all events was used in the spring and all 25 tour events will be played this summer. Find out more about this learn to compete junior tour below.
ALBERTA GOLF TO TEST NEW RECREATIONAL BRAND UPSWING THIS SUMMER
This summer golfers across the province will get a sneak peek at a new brand offering called UpSwing by Alberta Golf. Read the following story to find out what UpSwing is all about before this new line of business gets launched in the spring of 2022.

ALBERTA GOLF FESTIVALS
UpSwing by Alberta Golf is proud to re-launch the 2021 Golf Festivals presented by Shaw and the Shaw Charity Classic.
Enjoy a day on the course to play any way you want. Just $20 (for a group of up to 6) to own a hole for 90 minutes! Play the hole as many times as you can, or head to the bunker and practice your sand game. Whatever you want, it’s entirely up to you.
July 5 at Cottonwood G&CC: Three start times to choose from: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm. Limited to the first 54 groups to sign up.
July 13 at Innisfail GC: Two start times to choose from: 12pm, 2pm. Limited to the first 18 groups to sign up.

ALBERTA GOLF SUPPORTS 26 ATHLETES IN THE 2021 PLAYER SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Sport Development program is designed to support athletes across the province by providing programs and services that ultimately help them reach their competitive goals in the sport. Support is provided to athletes, coaches, and facilities who are committed to developing the game of golf in the province of Alberta.
SAFE SPORT UPDATE
The Board of Directors at Alberta Golf have approved the implementation of The Respect in Sport for Parents program. Parents of junior competitors at Alberta Golf events will be required to complete the program and watch our influencer video as part of tournament registration. Alberta Golf is aligned with Golf Canada and Respect Group to create a Safe Sport environment where our competitors can reach their full potential free of Bullying, Abuse, Harassment and Discrimination.
THREE GOLF CANADA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS TO BE HOSTED IN ALBERTA THIS SUMMER
Golf Canada will be hosting 3 of their National Championships in Alberta this summer. The Canadian Junior Girls Championship will be held July 20-23 at The Leduc Golf and Country Club. The following week the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship will be held July 27-30 at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club. Fort McMurray Golf Club will host the Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship August 24-27.
ALBERTA GOLF FUND (AGF) LAUNCHES NEW SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS
In partnership with the Golf Canada Foundation, Alberta Golf has identified five areas where supporters can contribute and help to make a difference. Please learn more about the Alberta Golf Fund (AGF).
ALBERTA GOLF FOUNDATION
The Alberta Golf Association Foundation was established in 1994 and is focused on supporting students on their path to pursue a post-secondary education. The 2021 scholarship application deadline is July 15th.
