Alberta Golf (Barrhead) – Final round of the Alberta Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship from Barrhead Golf Club on a hot summer day northwest of Edmonton. Neil Thomas from the Edmonton Country Club started the day with a 5-shot lead in a final group with defending champion Barrett Jarosch from Windermere Golf & Country Club and Ryan DenBraber from Glendale Golf & Country Club.
Thomas shot 3-under 69 with 4 birdies and a lone bogey on the 8th hole. Barrett Jarosch had 8 birdies on the day and closed the gap to 1 stroke with 3 holes to go but an amazing approach shot by Thomas on the par-4 17th hole to 3 feet secured a birdie and eventually a 3 stroke victory for his second Alberta Mid-Amateur title.

Defending champion Barrett Jarosch put on a great show today shooting 67 with 8 birdies to finish runner-up.
Ryan Werre from Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat shot back to back rounds of 4-under 68 after an opening round of 71 to finish solo 3rd place.
The Alberta Interprovincial Team consists of Neil Thomas, Barrett Jarosch and Ryan Werre.
