Alberta Golf (Medicine Hat) – Mitchell Fox from Speargrass Golf Course posted a second round 7-under 65 with 2 eagles, 3 birdies to only 1 bogey on the day to take a 2 stroke lead heading to the final round of the Alberta Open Championship at Desert Blume Golf Club.

6-time champion Wes Heffernan from Silver Springs Golf & Country Club posted back to back 67s to sit 2 shots back.

2019 Champion Andrew Harrison posted 5-under 67 with 4 birdies, an eagle and a lone bogey on the 12th hole.

A group of Desert Blume golfers in Dillon Batsel, Mike Valk & Ryan Werre will no doubt be a factor in the final round. Valk, the 2020 Alberta Men’s Amateur Champion matched Fox with the low round of the day, a 7-under 65. Jesse Galvon from Mickelson National Golf Club and Michael Harrison from Coal Creek Golf Resort are also in the mix. No doubt the top 8 are a who’s who in the golf scene in Alberta.
