Alberta Golf provides an opportunity for Alberta resident golfers to represent their province through a variety of team competitions, including:

Alberta/Montana Ryder CupTier 2 players eligible for team selection – 6 boys & 6 girls
The cross border battle has a rich history of talented youngsters who have used the event as a developmental opportunity on their competitive golf journey. The Junior Ryder Cup events was established in 1992 as an annual event which host club rotates each year.
Selection:
- Tier 2 players (boys and girls)
- Age divisions (U15, 15 – 16 years, 17 – 18 years)
Players on team Alberta will receive a full team package and a portion of event costs are subsidized by Alberta Golf.

Canada Summer GamesPerformance based selection model – 2 boys & 2 girls
We’re here to strengthen the fabric of Canada through the power of sport. Coming together every four years, we elevate the best of our nation and spark future generations to achieve greatness both on and off the field of play.
Selection:
- Highest ranking identified players (tier performance criteria based) receive invitations.
- Age restrictions (U19)
All costs are covered by Canada Summer Games, Alberta Committee. Team Alberta Apparel package included.

Interprovincial TeamsPerformance Based Selection Model
The top three finishers at each provincial championship qualifying to represent their province as Team Alberta at the interprovincial competition at the respective national championship.

Pacific Coast AmateurPerformance based selection model – 3 male players
It is one of the oldest amateur championships in North America dating back to 1901. The Morse Cup Team Competition has been held as part of the PCA Championship since the tournament’s rebirth in 1967.

Amateur golf association dedicated to preserving the true spirit of golf by supporting its member associations, conducting quality championships, and promoting activities beneficial to golfers in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.
Selection:
- Previous year’s Alberta Women’s Amateur Champion
- Top female amateur at the previous year’s Alberta Open
- High finisher at previous year’s Canadian Women’s Amateur
