Course Rating
Course rating in Alberta Golf is carried out by a mixed team of raters who are trained by the RCGA, in accordance with the USGA Course Rating System. Under this system it is required to re-rate all Alberta Golf member courses at least once every ten years. Alberta Golf uses a schedule of every eight years to allow some flexibility for the personnel doing the ratings and to accommodate member courses (i.e. renovations being carried out on the course).
In Alberta there are 20-30 course raters spread through the five zones that carry out the course ratings. The number of courses rated each year requires a large effort by the raters.
A complete list of all member club course slope ratings can be found by clicking on Course Rating List in the menu on the left side of this page. If you have any questions about course rating, please ask a club staff member or board representative to contact the Alberta Golf office.
