About Alberta Golf
The Alberta Golf Association was incorporated in 1912 and
continues today as a non-profit organization whose mission statement is to fulfill the needs of its members
for today and tomorrow. In continuing the long legacy of supporting the operations of its member clubs,
Alberta Golf:
- Offers a full range of benefits including internationally recognized membership cards
- Delivers tournament activities for junior and adult players of all age and skill levels
- Sponsors provincial, regional, national, and international golf teams
- Organizes extensive junior and player development programs from grassroots to elite players
- Provides interesting communiqués such as provincial and national golf magazines, e-mail newsletters, annual reports, and implementation of an interactive website
- Offers online scoring and statistic tracking through the RCGA Network
- Institutes educational seminars on the Rules of Golf and the Course Rating and Handicap System
- Offers post secondary scholarships
- Recognizes individual milestones through the provision of "hole-in-one" and "break 70, 80, 90, and 100" pins
- Implements the internationally accredited RCGA Course Rating System
- Circulates, monitors, and supports a nationally recognized central handicap computer software system
- Has contributed over $150,000 in funding for turfgrass research initiatives
- Is a facilitating member of the Alberta Golf Industry Association which acts of golf's pressing issues
- Partners with mass media sources to gain coverage and encourage interest and participation in golf
- Ensures the protection of golf's amateur code

Alberta Golf currently has over two hundred member clubs and fifty eight thousand individual members of all ages.
Alberta Golf has directors trained to perform course/slope ratings for all member courses.
Alberta Golf Club Manual provides a variety of golf related information of interest to all members.
Online handicap system for all members through the RCGA Network.
Alberta Golf hosts Zone Spring Meetings and an Annual General Meeting for all members and clubs.
Alberta Golf Directors and staff conduct Visitations to Member Clubs.
Alberta Golf conducts Rules Seminars, Handicap Certification Seminars, and organizes APGA Short Game Clinics.
Rules books, Decisions books, RCGA Rules and Etiquette guides and Handicap Manuals are available for purchase through Alberta Golf.
A facility fee was introduced to clubs in 2003 offering $15 per person per round when hosting tournaments and qualifying rounds.
Alberta Golf, on behalf of its members, offers over twenty five scholarships of $1,000.00 each to juniors across Alberta.
Alberta Golf Directors are available upon request to assist in marking of courses for in-house tournaments.
Alberta Golf provides online registration and results for tournaments through our website.
Alberta Golf's website is available to all member clubs to advertise tournaments and special events.
